Each year we speak to hundreds of owners in the Wilmington, N.C. area who want to sell their business. 

Since many folks know we sell businesses, they sometimes ask us about business brokers and competitors we have in the Wilmington area.

Bristol Group

Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

Founded: 2005

The Bristol Group is an affiliate network with its headquarters located in Boise, Idaho. Similar to a brokerage franchise model, local affiliates pay an initial licensing fee and an ongoing percentage of their commissions to their licensor (Bristol Group). 

In exchange, the licensor provides forms, marketing templates, and administrative tools to the local affiliate. Although a majority of their business is done in the Pacific Northwest, the Bristol Group has a handful of offices across the country. 

Bristol Group’s local affiliate, Regina Fisher, has been selling businesses since November of 2018. She is a generalist and sells both main street and lower middle-market businesses.   

New South Business Brokers

Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

Founded: 2013

New South Business Brokers is an independent business brokerage located in Wilmington, N.C. Owner Pete DeVita founded the company and started selling businesses in 2013.  

New South Business Brokers focuses on businesses with under $1 million in revenue. They serve small business owners between Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Jacksonville, N.C. They specialize in restaurants and main street businesses.

VR Business Brokers

Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

Founded: 1979

VR Business Brokers is a brokerage franchise that was started in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and currently has two franchises in Southeastern North Carolina. One franchise is in Hampstead, N.C. and the other is in Wilmington, N.C. 

Both locations provide general business brokerage services and focus on selling companies making under $1 million in revenue. VR Business Brokers has sold businesses such as landscaping companies, laundromats, party supply stores, and retail stores.
