Sometimes The Best Buyer Is Hiding In Plain Sight

River City Chiropractic, the largest chiropractic office in Richmond, Virginia, was recently sold by way of the MidStreet Mergers and Acquisitions to Dr. Andrew Shepherd.  Founded in 2007 by Dr. Franklin Luke, River City offers a variety of chiropractic services to clients in the greater Richmond area.

About the Seller

Dr. Franklin Luke graduated cum laude from the Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City, Missouri.  Dr. Luke was inspired to start the business because of an injury he sustained to his neck during a football game in high school. The injury left him unable to play football until a family friend recommended he visit a chiropractor. Thanks to his chiropractor, Dr. Luke completely healed his injury and was able to return to the football field once again.

This experience profoundly affected Dr. Luke, and drove him to create a business focused on healing patients and improving lives. "If we're not getting a success story at least once a week, something is going wrong," says Dr. Luke.

Selling the Business

With over 2900 clients and a wide range of chiropractic services, the business was very successful. “People come here for all sorts of reasons. I’ve seen every condition in the book. But they all stay for one reason: when the body works better, their life works better.”

The sale was completed by Chad Barbour, a senior advisor with MidStreet Mergers & Acquisitions. River City Chiropractic was acquired by Dr. Andrew Shepherd, a previous assistant to Dr. Luke at River City Chiropractic.

Dr. Shepherd's path to chiropractic care is similar to that of Dr. Luke's. After a major car accident left Dr. Shepherd in constant pain and fatigue, he discovered the healing power of chiropractic care. This life-changing event prompted him to devote his career to transforming the health of his clients through chiropractic care. Dr. Shepherd plans to continue growing the business and serving the residents of Richmond, Virginia.
