Multi-unit Franchise Sold to Wilmington Area Entrepreneur

Daughtry Tax Service, Inc., an award-winning multi-unit Jackson Hewitt franchise, has recently been sold by way of MidStreet Mergers and Acquisitions.

About the Company

The previous owners, Van and Julie Daughtry, bought the business from relatives in 2006.  Over a period of ten years, the Daughtrys expanded to a total of twenty locations throughout Southeastern North Carolina and greater Chatanooga Tennessee.  During the time they owned the business, the Daughtrys received multiple operational awards and became one of the most successful franchisees in the Jackson Hewitt system.

Selling the Business

Daughtry Tax Service generated a high level of interest, ultimately producing multiple offers.  The Buyer, Brian Bostick, was an ideal fit for the business, as the sellers were hoping to find a buyer who shared their love of entrepreneurship and franchising.  Bostick is a Wilmington, NC native that has owned many successful franchises, making him a great fit for the Jackson Hewitt system.

The sale was completed by Chad Barbour, a senior business advisor, and manager of MidStreet's franchise resale division.  Barbour worked hand-in-hand with Bostick to ensure a smooth and efficient sale process.

“The process went very smooth.  Brian was able to secure financing through First Citizens Bank on his own, as he had a great business relationship with them in the past.  Brian is a great entrepreneur and it was a pleasure working with him throughout the transaction.”  −  Chad Barbour
